2026/08 Poll Representatives and Bylaws

Greetings to the members of the Academie d’Espee!

Per our bylaws (available at Academie d’Espee), we hold an annual Academie poll for three primary purposes:

1. Council Selection: Council seats carry two-year terms.
   • Even Years: One Scholar representative and the Provost representative.
   • Odd Years: One Scholar representative, the Free Scholar representative, and the Distinguished Provost representative.
2. Bylaw Change Proposals: Voting on accumulated proposed changes.
3. Academie Feedback: Open-response opportunities and general feedback.

For the 2026 election cycle, the Academie Council is splitting these functions. We are conducting the Council Selection vote first, followed by bylaw proposals and the feedback survey at a later date.

As 2026 is an even year, the following two Council positions are open for nomination:

• 1 Scholar Representative
• 1 Provost Representative

Election Timeline

• Nominations Open: Now through September 8
• Voting Period: September 9–September 21
• Results Verified & Announced: September 22 (at the next Council meeting)

Nominations

If you are a Scholar or Provost interested in serving, please contact any current Council member to self-nominate. You may also nominate another member; the Council will reach out to confirm their acceptance.

• Scholar (Odd Year): Baroness Azza
• Scholar (Even Year): Open for election
