August 2026 Council Meeting Summary

Pennsic & Event Highlights

Queen’s Scarf Presentation: The ceremony at Assessment went wonderfully, with presentations by Giovanna, Rajan, and Geoffrey.
Pennsic Meet & Greet: Thank you to everyone who attended! The Academie Meet & Greet was a great success.
Royal Guards: White Scarf and Free Scholar/Cadet guards provided honorable support to Their Majesties and Their Highnesses during Pennsic Midnight Madness.
Upcoming Royal Ice Cream Social: Her Highness will host an ice cream social for Free Scholars and Cadets in the Royal Lodge at Coronation.

Upcoming Council Selection Vote: An election is approaching for the open Scholar and Provost seats. Look for a formal announcement on Facebook, Discord, and the email list regarding nominations (open through September 8) and voting dates (September 9–21).

Academie Event Presence & Tent: We are implementing a central Google Sign-Up sheet to coordinate volunteers, food, and the Academie tent/tables for upcoming events.
War of the Wings (WoW):
- Tournaments: Elizabeta Ferrofredo di Bari (Lisa Losito) is coordinating rapier tournament efforts.
- Academie Tent: Azza is taking the lead on organizing our presence at WoW.
- Academie Gauntlet: We are exploring hosting the Gauntlet at WoW; further details and an explanatory overview will be shared soon.

Survey & Member Input: Ffernfael is drafting a community survey to gather feedback on local rapier support, pathways to advancement, and communication. Further updates will follow as questions are finalized.
Bylaw Review & Council Meeting Archives: The Council is drafting official procedures for mid-term vacancies and exploring the addition of a Free Scholar seat. Proposed amendments will be presented for general membership review in October 2026, ahead of a vote in January 2027. Meeting notes will also soon be archived in an accessible central folder.
